The home celebrates the natural landscape of its context and capitalizes on sustainable building strategies appropriate for Zone 1 climate. The house celebrates nature and indoor/outdoor living in a sub-tropical climate. The clients were excited about building a home in the midst of very large oak specimens and were resolute on building around them in order to preserve them. The program included a comfortable living/dining room, a yoga and meditation room and a study. A total of five bedrooms include a master, and two bedrooms, in proximity to each other as well as two additional guest rooms. Outdoor living spaces were a priority as was the possibility of fitting a lap pool in the midst of all the trees, as long as they were not affected.
